Aluminum Box Die Casting Mold
Moldie designs and builds die casting molds for aluminum box geometries. We deliver production-ready mold tooling matched to your drawings and casting process, with attention to box walls, lid or cover mating faces, and internal bosses as drawn.
What this mold is for
This page covers mold tooling for aluminum boxes. Typical discussions include box envelope, wall consistency, cover interface, and tryout sample review. Casting alloy choice (aluminum alloys as specified for the part) is separate from mold steel selection for the die.
Tooling scope
- DFM review for aluminum box walls, cover lands, and machining stock
- Mold design: parting, gating, runners, overflow, venting, and ejection for box cavities
- CNC machining of cavities/cores, fitting, and assembly
- Tryout support and dimensional feedback for aluminum box samples
Materials note
Part alloy (aluminum alloys such as ADC12, A380, or AlSi grades as specified for the part) and mold steel (tool steel with appropriate hardness for die casting dies) are specified separately. Do not treat part-alloy hardness or surface treatments as mold-steel heat treatment.
