A356 Aluminum Casting Mold
Moldie designs and builds aluminum casting molds for A356 (and related grade) programs. The casting process—high pressure die casting (HPDC), low pressure die casting (LPDC), or gravity/permanent mold as applicable—is confirmed per project from drawings and process requirements. We deliver production-ready mold tooling matched to that confirmed process.
What this mold is for
This page covers mold tooling for parts specified in A356-class aluminum alloys. Process route and part function are confirmed with engineering input for each program. Part alloy and mold steel are specified separately.
Tooling scope
- DFM review aligned to the process confirmed for the project (HPDC, LPDC, or gravity as applicable)
- Mold design: parting, gating/feed system, venting, and ejection suited to the confirmed process
- CNC machining of cavities/cores, fitting, and assembly
- Tryout support and dimensional feedback for first samples
Materials note
Part alloy (aluminum alloys such as A356 and related grades as specified for the part) and mold steel (tool steel with appropriate hardness for casting dies) are specified separately. Do not treat part-alloy hardness or surface treatments as mold-steel heat treatment.
